The Polo bear originated from a meaningful moment when Ralph Lauren received a unique gift—a Richard Steiff teddy bear dressed in a custom Ralph Lauren outfit. Impressed by the thoughtful gesture, Lauren wanted to share this experience with others, leading to the creation of "Preppy Bear" in a limited edition of 200 units.
Jumping ahead to 2023, I had the opportunity to contribute to an internal project focused on reviving this iconic bear. Our goal was to give it a modern twist by incorporating popular streetwear elements like the Snow Beach hat and jacket. The project received positive feedback internally. We are excited to announce that the new Polo Bears will be hitting the market soon, blending heritage with contemporary style.
